Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Manim Academy ("we," "us" or "our") collects, uses and discloses information in connection with your use of Manim Academy (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive and store your name, email address and profile picture as provided by Google.
• Onboarding information. Information you provide during sign-up, such as whether you run a channel, your role, the subjects you teach, what you intend to make, your name and email address if you provide them, and the approximate country your request originates from.
• Billing information. Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not receive or store your card number; we retain your email address, the plan you purchased and its status.
• Usage information. Aggregate information about page views and basic interactions with the Service, the approximate country a request originates from, and the browser used to access it.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to operate your account and subscription, to respond to your inquiries, to understand how the Service is used so we can improve it, and to prioritize which assets and features we build based on the roles and subjects reported during onboarding. We also use automated notifications for internal operational purposes, such as alerting our team to sign-ups or service errors.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your information and do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share information with service providers who process it on our behalf and under their own privacy terms, including providers of authentication and database infrastructure, payment processing, hosting and analytics, and email delivery. These providers are authorized to use the information only as necessary to provide their services to us.

4. Reviews on the Home Page

The users shown in the reviews on the home page are Manim Academy users. If you run a company or an institute, or study at a university, we would be glad to feature you there. It is entirely optional: if you would like your face on the home page, just let us know at hello@manim.academy. You can ask us to take it down at any time.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and local storage required to keep you signed in, and analytics cookies used to measure aggregate visits to the Service. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

6. Data Retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active, and billing records for as long as required by applicable tax and accounting rules. Onboarding information from individuals who do not create an account is retained for up to twelve (12) months.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by writing to hello@manim.academy from the email address associated with your account. We will respond within thirty (30) days.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you by email before it takes effect. See also the Terms and conditions.
